She is of French German Irish Scottish and Scottish roots. Her family's Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery was founded in Erie Pennsylvania in 1847 by her family. John Martin Magenau Jr., the President and CEO of the brewery from its establishment within Erie Pennsylvania in 1847 until 1978. Jacobs was a performer since age of 8 and took classes on Saturdays at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. Mt. Lebanon High School, in the year 2000, Jacobs relocated into New York City New York to attend the Juilliard School where she was an active member of the Drama Division's Group 33. Her bachelor's was awarded in the year 2004.
